CHARTER FOR BETTER EARTH

The formation of the Earth Charter Foundation follows the June 2007 Digital Earth Symposium held in San Francisco. This historic gathering brought together education and environment groups, scientists, academics and the media to hear and learn about Earth's current condition and and associated problems such as climate change, living conditions and species extinctions. The Earth Charter was enthusiastically received as an important document of principles for the protection and preservation of the planet's bounty.
The Earth Charter Foundation in a non-profit organization that supports other worldwide groups and organizations committed to improving the living environment on Earth, and joins the Digital Earth 07 participants listed below who support action for the sustainability of planet Earth.
Daily Planet Media – the media network that focuses on global warming, climate changer and the sustainability of planet Earth
Alliance for Climate Protection – the Al Gore lead group based in San Francisco
NASA Wind World – a project of remote sensing accessing Earth images from space used to assess global warming and greenhouse gasses build-up
UNESCO – the United Nations body that approved the Earth Charter as the principal document for the sustainability of Earth.
WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) – the respected worldwide foundation that proactively seeks the protection of all species on Earth
Planet Action (Spot Image, France) – involved with forming partnerships for its Planet Action campaign to find solutions for global warming.
International Society for Digital Earth – the conveners of the symposiums that puts the spotlight on the Earth’s environment through the analysis of digital data
The Institute for the Application of Geospatial Technology – advanced mapping of Earth changes
International Centre for Remote Sensing Education – examines the climatic state of the planet.
International Society for Digital Earth (Xu Guanhua, China) – the eco-caring technological group based in China.
The International Polar Year 2007-2008 – examining the ice melting and other changes to the delicate environments of North and South poles.
Amazon Conservation Team – sustaining Amazon rain forests.
Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council, Alaska – a group that protects the fragile regions of Alaska.
Geographic Information Science Centre – advanced technology for monitoring changes on Earth.
National Council for Science & the Environment (NCSE) – USA monitoring group of Earth changes.
Silicon Valley Innovation Institute – technology for Earth data.
Sustainable Ventures – an Earth eco group that undertakes projects to assist the sustainability of Earth.
Eyes on Danfur (Google Earth project) – enabling people to watch live on Google Earth the first conflict caused by global warming and climate change.
Global Change, Heinze Center, Washington DC – tracking the environment and changes taking place on Earth.
